🐾 Getting Started & Bookings
How do I book a stay or daycare session?
The fastest way to book is through our Online Portal or by calling our team. For new clients, we require a quick "Meet & Greet" to ensure our social, cage-free environment is the right fit for your pup.
What are your hours of operation?
- Spadina (161 Spadina Ave.): 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM daily (including weekends and holidays).
- Corktown (529 Richmond St. E): 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Monday to Saturday.
Do you offer tours?
Absolutely! However, to maintain a calm and safe environment for the dogs in our care, we do not allow the public in the play areas. You are welcome for a visit (we have a lot of viewing areas) and you can also view our facilities via our 24/7 Live Webcams once your dog is checked in!
🛡️ Safety, Health & Philosophy
What does "Cage-Free" actually mean?
At Atlas Paws, we believe dogs are social creatures. Our facilities feature large, open play zones. Even during overnight boarding, dogs sleep in supervised, comfortable open areas with premium bedding—never in a cage or crate.
How do you manage dog behaviour?
We follow Fear Free® influenced protocols. We use positive reinforcement and gentle redirection. For safety interruptions, we may use a light water mist to refocus a dog’s attention—this is used strictly as a humane communication tool, never as punishment.
What is your policy on Spaying and Neutering?
We welcome all friendly, well-socialized dogs into our family! While we do not enforce a strict "fix" requirement, we strongly recommend spaying or neutering your pet for their long-term health and to maintain the safest possible social dynamic within a cage-free environment.
We love all pups, but our facility is a 'no-romance zone.' We aren't able to host female dogs who are currently in heat—thanks for understanding!
Do you support animal rescue and fostering?
Yes! We started this business out of a pure love for dogs. We have fostered many dogs over the years and continue to support local fostering initiatives and rescue partners. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for all dogs, including those currently searching for their forever homes.
What are your vaccination requirements?
For the safety of the group, all dogs must be up-to-date on:
- Rabies
- Distemper/Parvovirus (DHPP/DA2PP)
- Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
- Proof of vaccination must be uploaded to your profile before arrival.
Are there age or breed restrictions?
We love dogs of all sizes and ages! However:
- Legal Requirements: We cannot accommodate breeds prohibited by the Ontario Dog Owners' Liability Act (e.g., Pitbulls).
- Puppies: Must have their second round of shots to join the family.
🚐 Services & Logistics
What is the "Bark Force One" Shuttle?
Our signature shuttle provides easy transport between our Spadina and Corktown locations. We are also piloting residential pick-up and drop-off routes—ask our staff to join the waitlist for your neighbourhood!
Can I check in on my dog during the day?
Yes! We pride ourselves on transparency. You will have access to our Live Cams, and our staff frequently sends photo and video updates via report cards so you can see exactly how much fun your pup is having.
What should I pack for boarding?
- Food: Please bring their regular food in a sealed container or pre-portioned bags.
- Medication: We can administer oral or topical meds at no extra charge (no injections).
- Leash: For safe entry and exit.
- We provide bowls, toys, and luxury bedding, so please leave those at home!
💳 Pricing & Policies
Are there holiday surcharges?
Yes. A 20% surcharge applies to daycare and boarding during peak dates, statutory holidays and long weekends.
Do daycare packages expire?
Our discounted multi-day packages offer great value and expire 90 days after the date of first use.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that plans change! To ensure we can offer open spots to other dogs on our waitlist, we require the following notice for cancellations:
- Standard Bookings: Please provide at least 3 days' notice.
- Peak Seasons & Holidays: For long weekends, holidays, and busy seasons (Spring/Summer break, Christmas, and New Year), we require 7 days' notice.
Cancellations made outside of these windows may be subject to a fee of up to 50% of the total booking amount, at our discretion. This applies to both unpaid reservations and those made with a prepayment.
❤️ Our Story: Why "Atlas Paws"?
Who are Atlas and Gaia?
The name Atlas Paws was inspired by Raf's own dog, Atlas, a Golden Retriever who is the kindest soul we’ve ever known. He is a staple at the facility and helps us immensely with socializing new or nervous dogs. He is joined by his sister, Gaia, and together they remind us every day why we do what we do.
Our Philosophy is simple:
- Offer the best possible experience for all dogs.
- Make a profit so that we can do more of #1.
- Never, ever reverse the order of #1 and #2.
